This is a program I wrote last year for high school chemistry. It serves one, simple purpose: to give atomic masses of chemical formulas. Because it is a function, it can be used in many different ways.

It is passed one variable, an equation, using the symbols of elements as undefined variables. It then uses temp variables filled with the atomic masses to evaluate that expression, and returns it as a real number.

This is an incredibly simplistic program, that saved me hours of work.

Examples:

Finding Molecular Mass:
amass(h*2+o)
18.02

Finding Moles:
116.886/amass(na+cl)
2

And various other chemistry math problems.

You can also put this in its own directory, delete the local statement, and run it to initialize the variables for permanent use. This is a faster method, but I prefer not to have 110 variables sitting in my file list.

Comments are welcome.
